Another Flight for SpaceShipOne

November 14, 2003 - Burt Rutan's SpaceShipOne flew another glide test today in preparation for its first space flight, which is rumored to be scheduled for sometime in December. It was a gorgeous morning (although the lighting was from the wrong direction for good photography, at least from where I was standing with one of the crash trucks), and a nice, smooth flight. Here's a few pics...

High-key crosswind to downwind, SS1 with a couple of chase planes, including Robert Shearer's gorgeous Beech Starship, one of the few left flying.
Turning final for runway 30, just before letting the gear down.
Short final...
...and another successful touchdown, right in front of us. Congrats to all the folks at Scaled for another fantastic test flight! (For those not familiar with SS1, note that there's no nose wheel...the skid helps with the braking!)
