February 15, 2006 - With the Rocket Racing League looking more and more like it will become a reality, XCOR Aerospace has been flight testing the first airframe that will be converted to a Mark 1 Rocket Racer. The plane is a 4-place Velocity, produced by Velocity Aircraft, and still has its stock piston engine and propeller combination. The rocket engine will be produced and integrated with the airframe by XCOR, resulting in a two-place rocket plane.
